Families and Volunteers gather together for Holiday Story Hour!

Project READ families, friends, volunteers and community members came together for our annual Holiday Story Hour and Gift Making Workshop. Over 100 children were in attendance to enjoy music by Cotten Candy Express and make gifts for their loved ones. While another 60 adults came to share in the experience with their families. Each child was greeted by long-time Project READ supporters, the Crum Family, who assembled and handed out holiday gift bags. This has become a long-standing, much loved tradition by this generous family.

While the children danced and sang along to holiday favorites, parents secretly shopped for their kids among donated gifts of books and educational games, ensuring that everyone will have something to open for the holidays this year. Families and volunteers shared in cake to end to holiday event.

Because of Project READ supporters and volunteers, events like this one are offered throughout the year. Our last family event of 2016 was a success thanks to the 23 volunteers who took the time to give back to our community. Thank you to all of our volunteers and community partners, including HOBA, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Junior League.

Happy Holidays!
