Family Story Hour

Nearly 100 learners, families and friends attended our March Families For Literacy Story Hour. James Henry from Samba Samba performed, teaching both kids and adults about music around the world. This interactive performance allowed children and adults to take part by playing a variety of different percussion based instruments found around the globe, all while emphasizing the importance of learning and higher education. Samba Samba is a favorite of our families, both inspiring and educational.

Our Family Book for the evening was Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. Students created musical instruments inspired by Samba Samba's performance. Volunteers from Hands on Bay Area (HOBA) and Volunteermatch.com helped students with their crafts and with photography to capture these memories.
