This semester's Peacemakers' Alliance Critical Literacy class-- a Project READ and County Jail program focused around nonviolent communication and critical literacy-- has dedicated their service project to the children of Project READ. Incarcerated students created beautiful t-shirts as a way to give back to the Project READ community and help the children in our program have a happy holiday season. Over 80 men who are part of the Peacemakers' Alliance and/or the CHOICES program took part in this project, embodying a sense of community and the season of giving.
Over 200 t-shirts, ranging from baby onesies to youth sizes are being given out to Project READ children at our annual family Holiday Gift Making Workshops this month. During this event, parents are able to "shop" for donated books, educational games and activities for their children to ensure that everyone will have something to open this holiday season!
Happy Holidays!
