Project READ families celebrated Spring at our March Story Hour. One hundred children and 60 adults attended this monthly event. Twelve community members volunteered through Hands On Bay Area (HOBA), assisting with set up and break down and helping students with crafts. Magic Dan wowed the audience with magic and humor during his interactive performance. He even got some parents to take part in the show!
Each family was given Crafty Chloe to take home with them as this month's Family Book, as well as varied self-selected titles that were on display. Community partner, Second Harvest Food Bank donated 25 bags of vegetables that we gave away to our families to encourage healthy eating habits.
Story Hour is a monthly family program that immerses whole families in literacy and the arts.
