We held our first Story Hour for 2019, starting off our new year enveloped in literacy. Fifty five students and families took part in this mixed art event. Amber from the Soul Shop performed, inviting students to drum, sing and dance in a soothing a melodic rhythm.
All families took home a new copy of Ruby Gets Crafty, our family book of the month. Additionally, students selected new titles to bring home to add to their home libraries from our Book Give Away table.
Students got crafty themselves, creating a calendar with important dates, a bubble wrap snow scene and a paper bag superhero, inspired from the family book. Hands On Bay Area volunteers helped the students with their crafts.
Second Harvest Food Bank provided nutritious snacks for our families. Thank you to all of our volunteers and community partners!
