The 30th Annual Trivia BEE

The 30th Annual Trivia BEE, held last Friday at the Cañada College campus, brought together 350 trivia buffs and Project READ supporters old and new. It was a fun-filled night of music, food and some fierce trivia competition to help raise literacy awareness in our community and funds to support Project READ’s literacy programs. Redwood Friends Of Literacy has hosted this event for the past 30 years in support of Project READ. This year welcomed some new trivia teams to the stage, but in the end, it was some familiar faces that took home the coveted Trivia BEE titled. Former Trivia BEE champions, Sigma Phi Nothing brought home the first place prize, a repeat from 2014. Five-time past champions, ZAP Think Tank took second place, and our very first Trivia BEE champions from 1989, Minds Over Matter took third place. It was a well played competition this year, ending with a Sudden Death round to determine the winning team. Some lucky raffle winners took home gifts from local companies including a private tour of the Giants’ Stadium, Oracle Park, and tickets to a game, spa packages and a night out in Redwood City. A Black Tie Affair, Inc, catered the event with foods from around the world. Thank you to all of our sponsors that helped make this event a success

Thank you to all who participated or joined us this year at the Trivia BEE, including all of our amazing volunteers!

If you could not make the BEE this year, but would like to support Project READ, there are many ways to help raise literacy awareness. Just check out the opportunities on our website. projectreadredwoodcity.org
