Project READ Families Are Gifted Meals for Thanksgiving

Everyday we witness what it is to give through our dedicated volunteers, and watch with amazement what our tutors and learners achieve together. It is during the holiday season that we find ourselves awe-inspired by the generosity of spirit. This year, a Project READ supporter has graciously donated turkeys and Thanksgiving meals to 100 of our families to ensure everyone could enjoy a nutritious dinner with their family on Thanksgiving.

We at Project READ were thrilled to get involved with this amazing project, and helped add to the dinners and created Thanksgiving meal bags for each family in need. This year we even added pumpkin pies to the mix, because what's Thanksgiving without pie! Additionally, families received fresh vegetables, rice, masa, and tortillas and cheese from Mi Rancho. Second Harvest Food Bank partnered with us again by donating canned food to each meal. This truly was a community effort to help our families enjoy Thanksgiving.

We're so happy to kick off our holiday season with such an amazing gift. Thank you to all of our Project READ supporters, donors and community partners that helped make this possible.

Be safe this holiday week. Happy Thanksgiving!
