A Giving Story

This time of year we are reminded of all the wonderful resources and people we have within our own community. At Project READ, we especially love the week of giving because of a volunteer-initiated tradition. For the past three years, one of our generous Project READ tutors and overall supporters has donated turkeys to Project READ families in need in order to ensure all families had both food and family to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. Inspired by our volunteer's generosity, the Project READ staff, coupled with the support of our RCFOL board, has added food and side dishes to create a full Thanksgiving meal to distribute to our families.

This year things look a little different. But, it has not stopped the kindness and dedication of our Project READ community. In keeping with tradition, last week we distributed 100 gift cards in order for families to purchase turkeys, over 200 bags of fresh produce and 75 pies for dessert. This was made possible from our always anonymous and even more generous Project READ volunteer. We thought today, Giving Tuesday would be a great time to share the amazing work of the people in our community. Thank you all for making this year and this season that much brighter.

Your generosity matters.
