Welcome back to our virtual Book Club. This week we are reading, Pete the Kitty and the Case of the Hiccups by James Dean. Then we are working with colors to create our own color wheel. Join along!

Color Wheel Craft

Color Wheel Craft Directions


Materials:

-Yellow, red and blue tempera paint (from March)

-Paint brush

-Two paper plates

-Color wheel template

-Scissors

-Glue

-Cup with water

-Paper towel/napkin (if possible)


Directions:

  1. Using your scissors, cut out the color wheel template and glue it down to the center of your plate

  2. Squeeze out yellow, red and blue onto your other plate

  3. Then using your brush, paint the sides of your first plate with the corresponding color along the outside

  4. Blend your colors together based on the color wheel

  5. Watch how new colors are made!

  6. Optional: Scratch Art!

    1. Using your second plate (with the paint on it, not the color wheel), mix all the colors together to form a brown color

    2. Before this new mixture has a chance to dry, turn your brush over and use the end of the handle to scratch a design into your paint
