"The more you know of your history, the more liberated you are."
- Maya Angelou
In honor of Women's History Month, learners and tutors from our Project STEAM program created an art project highlighting important women in their lives. These inspirational females range from family members, tutors and teachers, to important female leaders throughout history. Students, tutors and staff created quilt squares out of paper of each of these important women, then pieced them all together, symbolizing unity, heritage and community. The finished work honored the extraordinary women throughout history and today. It will remain on display at Project READ during Women's History Month.
Project STEAM is a STEAM-based program created in partnership with JL.PAMP for girls who have been traditionally marginalized in sciences, math and engineering.
